AHEC Connecticut
ABOUT US
The Connecticut Area Health Education Center Program (AHEC) was established in 1995 by the Connecticut General Assembly and received its initial federal funding from HRSA in 1997.
The AHEC program is based at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington and implemented by four regional AHECs: Central AHEC ,Inc. Eastern AHEC, Inc. Northwestern AHEC and Southwestern AHEC.
The Health Occupations & Technology (H.O.T.) Guide was developed by the AHEC Health Career Coordinators as a resource for middle and high school students, academic and career counselors, teachers, school to career coordinators and other interested individuals. It is a comprehensive guide to all of the health and biotechnology careers, for which there is an educational program offered in CT.
The guide supports the efforts of the CT AHEC mission which is to enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of health care professionals through community and academic partnerships in Connecticut.
